Once set to be demolished, Bolton Hall is listed as an Historic Cultural Monument by the City of Los Angeles in 1962 and the museum features documents, artifacts, photographs, and exhibits that document the Sunland-Tujunga foothills from when the Gabrieleno Indians inhabited the area, through the Mission and Mexican land grant periods, to the rescue of Bolton Hall, to Tujunga in its present day. The City of Tujunga is also home to the McGroarty Cultural Art Center, which is also a designated Historical Monument. The Arts Center is an integral part of the community, offering affordable classes in performing, fine and literary arts throughout the year for children and adult learners.

Verdugo Hills Golf Course located just off La Tuna Canyon Road features a par-3 golf course, hilly terrain, a driving range, and oak trees scattered throughout the course. For the more advanced player, check out the Angeles National Golf Club, known as the only Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course in all of Los Angeles County. Beautifully designed with a desert-style layout, the Angeles National Golf Club features an 18 hole, par-72 course, and lengthy fairways. Golf Magazine even recognized it as one of the “Top 30 Best New Courses Worldwide” and is considered one of the “Top Ten Best New Public/Resort Courses.”

Although located in nearby Burbank, the DeBell Golf Course is another course popular with the residents of Tujunga. Golfers can choose to practice their swing at the par-3 course or the par-71 course, each offering a challenge to both novice and advanced players. Other golf courses within the area include Oakmont Country Club and Hansen Dam Golf Course.
